THE STORY BEHIND THE MISSION

The Little Girl Behind Hot Head.

My relationship with head lice began long before I ever imagined building a career around helping families get rid of it.

After returning from fifth-grade science camp, I contracted head lice. What should have been a temporary problem became something that followed me for nearly three years.

I had extremely curly hair that reached all the way down to my knees. As the infestation grew more severe, my family tried countless over-the-counter treatments, hoping something would finally work.

Instead, I experienced chemical burns, painful boils, and open wounds on my scalp. Despite everything we tried, the lice remained active.

Eventually, my hair became severely tangled and matted. I missed two months of school, and by the beginning of eighth grade, my father made the difficult decision to shave my head.

I was a little girl who had already spent years feeling embarrassed, uncomfortable, and different. Losing my hair affected far more than my appearance. It changed how I saw myself.

That experience stayed with me. And eventually, it became the foundation for everything I wanted to do differently.

THE POWER OF EXPERIENCE Outliers Environment. Opportunity. Purpose.
THE EXPERIENCES THAT SHAPE US

The Power of Environment.

In Malcolm Gladwell's book Outliers, he explores how circumstances, opportunities, and environments help shape the paths people take in life.

That idea has always resonated with me. I believe our experiences can influence not only who we become, but also what we feel called to change.

My childhood experience with head lice was painful, but it gave me a perspective that no textbook or training course could have taught me.

It taught me what it feels like to be the child in the chair, the family searching desperately for answers, and the person who simply wants someone to understand.

Today, that perspective is one of the most important things I bring into every home.

EXPERIENCE WITH PURPOSE

A Better Standard of Care.

Everything I learned, experienced, and witnessed became part of the foundation for Hot Head Lice Removal.

01

Nine Years of Experience

For nine years, I worked as an independent contractor with numerous lice removal companies.

That experience gave me the opportunity to learn different techniques, understand families' needs, and recognize where the industry could improve.

02

A Different Standard of Care

I believe lice removal should never feel rushed, intimidating, or shameful.

Every family deserves patience, transparency, education, and the reassurance that their concerns are being taken seriously.

03

A Mission Beyond Treatment

My goal reaches beyond removing head lice from one household.

I want to help families, schools, and communities break the recurring cycle of infestation through awareness, education, prevention, and accessible professional care.

A PERSONAL PROMISE

Your Hair Is Worth the Time.

One of the most important promises I've made through Hot Head Lice Removal comes directly from my own childhood.

I know what it feels like to lose your hair because of head lice. I know the emotional weight that experience can carry, especially for a child.

That's why I will never cut a client's hair as part of my lice removal service.

If your hair is tangled, I'll take the time to detangle it. If the comb-out takes longer than expected, I'll keep working patiently.

Because your hair is more than something growing from your scalp. It can be part of your identity, your confidence, your culture, and your story.

"I couldn't save my own hair back then. But I've dedicated my career to giving others the chance I never had."

FOUNDER, HOT HEAD LICE REMOVAL
LOOKING TOWARD THE FUTURE

Changing the Conversation Around Head Lice.

Head lice should never be a reason for a child to feel ashamed, a parent to feel judged, or a family to feel helpless.

Through Hot Head Lice Removal, I'm working to build something bigger than a treatment service.

I want to create an environment where families feel comfortable asking questions, children feel safe receiving care, and schools have access to reliable education and support.

My hope is that we can change the way communities understand and respond to head lice, one family at a time.
